hello Church cell. good morning and happy Friday we've missed you all today is Friday January 14th your announcements are brought to you by principal schnoor assistant principal Gardner and Dean Williamson alright b stand for the pledge add allegiance to the flag the United States of America to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all you mean now okay bulldogs at this time take a deep breath in and then let it go all the way clear your mind Center yourself and at this time please pause for a moment of silence okay thank you alright Bulldog let's talk about the social skill of the week following directions following directions help keep everyone safe at school and able to learn if your parents are. tell you to do something is important to follow the directions if you don't follow their directions you could do something that isn't safe or do something the wrong way for example if your teacher tells you how to do a worksheet but you don't follow his or her directions you might not do it right if your parents tell you not to jump on the bed but you do you could get hurt and break something it is important to follow directions to keep everyone safe and able to learn a friend coming up very exciting we have Martin Luther King Jr day we're going to learn a little bit more about him later on there will be no school however we are doing a partnership with the village of Homewood where we'll be having a day of service we're encouraging all of our students and all of our family is everyone to please come out and participate in this awesome event I also want to remind all of our students that coming up next week it is the mid-term of second trimester so if you have outstanding work that you need to get in or you need to retake anything please make sure that you communicate with your teacher and your teachers will be helping you too to make sure that I'm you can be as successful as possible I'm in in now performing in and getting those grades up to par okay all right Martin Luther King Junior was born in Atlanta Georgia in 1929 he experienced racial Prejudice from the time he was very young when she inspired him to dedicate his life to achieving equality and justice for all Americans of all colors King believes that peaceful refusal to obey unjust law was the best way to bring about social change based on the color of their skin unfair laws people should stand up for what is right and stopping anyway they never through the use of but he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize u.s. government encouraged Americans to the King holiday at the national on the Martin Luther King jr. Making a difference would you like to volunteer your time on the birthday of dr. Martin Luther King jr. okay Bulldogs you can see up on the screen we have our day of service we are partnering with an organization called a new and this has been sent out to your family as well there's a list of donations there and there's also list of Acts of service so that's your homework over the weekend in what ways would you like to honor and serve and get out into the community and make a difference come up with something and definitely on Monday be thinking about what you plan to do okay congratulations to the following students for doing a fabulous job on their recent social studies Midwestern states and Mathis Shayla Malala the late Lonnie Oliver dyani Marc Anthony Grace College Nia Dwayne Joseline and Jaden congratulations and way to go Bulldogs way to go all right it's time celebrate birthday happy birthday bulldog let's celebrate 3rd grade birthday games Daniela Aaliyah happy birthday.
