Williamson alright Bulldog it's time to talk about empathy this week we're going to talk about having same and different feelings we all went to have friends here at school but people can have similar or different feelings about the same situation for example I might feel scared to climb up I but this is Norma is Garner might feel excited learning to respect other people's feelings can help us make and keep friends starting today and all this week notice other people's feelings and whether they're the same or different from all right we're celebrating Black History Month right someone you should know each week during the the February we will highlight an individual that has made a significant contribution to history can't wait for you guys to hear what's coming up next hi my name is Blake and I'm Joshua burgunder and today we are going to highlight someone you should know Colin Kaepernick born November 3rd 1987 how is he contributed to history he is an American Civil Rights activist and football quarterback you played 6hj for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football Sleek as a political activist who knelt during the national anthem at the start of the NFL games in protest of the unfair treatment of people in our country Kaepernick played college football for the Nevada Wolfpack where he was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year twice and became the only player in NCAA Division history of 10000 passing your a 4000 rushing yards in a career after graduating she was selected by the 49ers in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft preseason game in 2016 next sat during the playing of the u.s. u.s. national anthem Grand River in stanwich was the normal practice as of pro as a protest to the unfair treatment of people in a country the following week and throughout the regular season Kaepernick kneel during the anthem the protest received various reactions with some praising him and his stand against racism and other meaning the protest the actions resulted in a wider protest movement which intend and testified and testified in September 2017 after president President Donald Trump sue the NFL Christian fire let me hear you say it when does our new school schedule start that the place is pretty beds on February 25th we'll have our in-person third graders new 4th and 5th graders if you're coming on site you'll be on site with us starting on February 25th our new schedule starts for all students on March 1st if you're in in person you all honor in persons units will be coming on site with us so other announcements other important info today is actually our last day that we will have announcements at 30 on Fridays next Friday you will get the tune in to our show at 12:15 so we're still going to have announcements were still going to put on this awesome show every Friday but it's going to be at 1215 we will be sending you the link via email so students check your email and make sure that you log in at 12:15 you do not want to miss all of the information and fun activities that we do on the announcements so a couple questions from some students what should I do when I'm not in SEL reading and language arts and math when you're not an SEL reading and language arts and math with your homeroom teacher you have other assignments that you should be logging into your team there will be pre-recorded instruction in science and social studies specials PE and there will also be the opportunity to connect with another teacher if you need help or assistance the stay tuned for more detail it's from your teacher the while you're not with your homeroom teacher you will have other assignments that you are expected to complete also another question came our way what about things like enrichment choir and Orchestra those teachers will they'll be letting you know how that will impact you are scheduled change again starting on February all right if you need anything at all please reach out to your teacher ask whatever questions you need to so that you can be successful when we make this transition are other important dates you need to know March 5th is the end of trimester toucan you believe it it's already the end of trimester 2 you know what that means I know you know what that means it means that there are report cards right around the corner we can't wait to recognize all of our Bulldogs you have achieved academic Excellence but also have done a wonderful job doing their Bulldog best behavior throughout the school year so please keep up the good work and finish the trimesters draw don't forget March 5th is also a remote Signing Day for all students more details to come on with that will look like time to celebrate birthdays this week Happy Birthday
