About the Teacher

Hello from Ms. Nieto!
My teaching career started in January 1994. After finishing the school year with the Sauk Village school district in June 1994, I started my full time career as a 5th grade Language Arts and Math/Science teacher in Glenwood August 1994. In 2007, I took a year to work on my Masters in Early Childhood full time at Governors State University (completed in 2010). For the second phase of my career, I was teaching 3rd grade at Churchill School beginning in 2008. After being in 5th grade the past 3 years, I'm very happy to be back in 3rd grade to complete my teaching career as I've stated my intent to retire from teaching in June 2028.

We will work together as your child's learning team to help him/her/them grow both socially/emotionally as well as academically. 3rd Grade is an exciting transitional time from Willow School to Churchill School. Never hesitate to reach out by phone or email. No question is too big or too small!

Besides falling in love with my students every year, the other loves of my life are my son, Jacob, and my stepson, Charles. Jake is a graduate of Illinois State University working as a Park Ranger at Indiana Dunes National Park. Charles resides in Minnesota with his wife, Alyssa, and my precious grandson, Luca.
