Welcome to Mr. Pettis Class

Hello Families and Students,

My name is Mr. Pettis, and I’m thrilled to begin another exciting year as your 4th-grade teacher! This is my second year in this role, and I’m truly looking forward to building strong relationships and helping each student grow both academically and personally.

A little about me: I’ve been happily married for 20 years and have two amazing children. Our family also includes a lively 5-year-old Yorkie who keeps us entertained! Outside of school, I enjoy playing the drums, golfing, and bowling. I’m also a big fan of live music—especially jazz.

Fun Fact about Teaching: One of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher is seeing those “lightbulb moments” when a student suddenly understands something new. It never gets old—it’s pure magic!

This year, our classroom theme is “The Bulldog Brickhouse”—a place built on strength, teamwork, and determination. Just like a brickhouse, we’ll work together to build a solid foundation for learning, where every student contributes a unique “brick” to our classroom community. We’ll celebrate effort, encourage each other, and grow stronger every day.

I believe in creating a classroom where every student feels safe, supported, and inspired to do their best. I’m excited for all the learning, laughter, and adventures we’ll share this year.
