Greetings Families!
My name is Hannah Henson, and I am so excited to start this 2024/25 school year! This is my first-year teaching as I graduated from Millikin University in May 2024 with a degree in elementary education. I had the wonderful opportunities at Millikin to have many different internships, experiences, and to student teach in 5th grade.
A little about me is that I have a cat named Sammy and an aquarium with 4 giant goldfish. I enjoy playing soccer as I have played soccer since I was very young. At Millikin University, I had the opportunity to play soccer all four years at the collegiate level while completing my degree. College soccer also allowed me to play two games internationally in Spain and Portugal. In my free time, I love spending time doing crafts, being with family and friends, and playing sports.
I entered the teaching profession because I have a love for learning and creating opportunities to help others learn. This passion reflects in the active, engaging, and fun lessons that your students will be participating in while in class.
I believe that creating a learning environment that students are comfortable in is important. This comfort in where they are allows students to feel safe and confident in themselves when learning new things.
