Welcome to 5th Grade!

Hello Bulldogs!

 

My name is Amy Harjung, a 5th grade teacher here at Churchill. Throughout my life, I have always found myself wanting to learn and pass on what knowledge I have gained to children! When I am not in the classroom, you can find me cooking, crocheting, or just spending time my my family and cats! But overall, I love to find myself in the classroom. It is clear that teaching has been the perfect career path for me! 

 

I earned my Associates in Arts Degree at Joliet Junior College before becoming a paraprofessional and substitute teacher in 2019. Throughout those years, it was clear I wanted to finish with my Elementary Education Degree! It was through Governors State University that I earned my Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a focus in English as a Second Language studies. 

 

Through observation hours, student teaching, and subbing here at Churchill, I found my true calling- 5th grade! It had been my pleasure to become a Bulldog and learn and grow alongside my students.
