Mrs. Losnedahl's Fifth Grade Class

Greetings Families- 

My name is Maleesa Losnedahl and I am excited to join the Churchill Elementary School family. I have taught in the South Suburbs for 17 years serving as a fifth-grade teacher and instructional technology coach. I also teach coding classes at the Homewood Science Center which has been extremely enjoyable.  

I have two children Maya (26) and Drew (14) and am married to my husband Erik. During my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and my cat Muffy. We enjoy hiking, gardening, and cooking.  

I enjoy incorporating nature into my classroom activities. Plants and animals are often topics that we will learn with, and I hope to get students excited about the natural world. 

I entered the teaching profession because I have a passion for learning and fostering that love in my students. I am committed to creating lessons that are engaging, impactful, and fun while creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable with the learning process.
