Meet the Teacher
My name is Brenda Banuelos, I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade! I student taught in 3rd grade at Churchill. I look forward to getting to know the learning styles of my students so that I can support their needs in the classroom.
I earned my associate in Arts at South Suburban College. I was then able to continue my education by enrolling in the Elementary Education program at Governors State. There I was a part of the Tau Sigma Honors Society, and the Dual Degree Program. These clubs would often come out to the surrounding communities like Homewood to participate in community service days to empower the community. I am also part of the American Education Association as an aspiring educator.
I live with my husband, our two children, and our dog. I graduated from Tinley Park High School. I like to read, hike, and explore new restaurants with my family.
The teacher education program at Governors State has taught me many strategies for incorporating mindfulness, diversity and differentiation within the classroom that I look forward to using. I am looking forward to getting to know each student, understanding their unique strengths and interests, and contributing to their educational journey.
