About Ms. Siegler

Ms. Siegler has been a visual art teacher at Churchill School since 2016. She received her B.S. in Art Education from Illinois State University (ISU) in 2001. Since 2002, she has taught art at a number of schools with students ranging from pre-k to undergraduate elementary education majors. 

 

A native of Homewood, Ms. Siegler graduated from James Hart Junior High School in 1993. She is a 1997 graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School where she was enrolled in a wide range of art classes and participated in Yearbook, The Voyager newspaper, track & field, basketball, and cross country. During her time at ISU, she was president of the ISU National Art Education Association (NAEA) Student Chapter as well as president of the national student division of the NAEA. She has continued to be an active member of both the NAEA and the Illinois Art Education Assoication 

 

As the art teacher at Churchill, Ms. Siegler teaches all the art classes for grades 3 through 5. She also sponsors the Art Clubs for each grade level and Backstage at the Musical, a group that paints the backdrop for the annual 4th Grade Musical. During the summer, she runs an Art Camp at Churchill for incoming 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. Past summer projects have included mural painting. 

 

Ms. Siegler is a member of the district's Diversity & Equity Team and participates in the Strategic Long Range Planning for the district. Ms. Siegler is involved in community art activities such as the annual Homewood Student Art Show and the Homewood-Flossmoor Area Art Teacher Art Show sponsored by the Homewood Arts Council. 

 

Ms. Siegler currently lives in Homewood with her husband and two children.
