About Mr. Soria
Hello, my name is Richard Soria, and welcome to the 2020-21 school year at HSD153! This year, I am excited to start my second year teaching PE/Health at Churchill (fourth year teaching overall)! A little bit about me: I am from Thornton, went to Marian Catholic, and then received my Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education from Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN in 2017 (Go Pumas!). My hobbies and interests include anything sport related, especially basketball, baseball (Go Cubs), soccer, tennis, working out, and many others. I also enjoy talking movies (especially Marvel and Star Wars) and music.
I believe Physical Education and Health are important classes because these subjects teach students to become lifelong learners. Students will learn how to stay healthy by exercising, eating right, learning healthy hygiene habits, and using positive social-emotional practices.
Churchill School (and District 153) is a great place to learn, grow, and establish relationships with other people. Here on my teacher webpage, you will be able to find announcements, newsletters, enrichment activities, and anything else that I may post for both students and families to access. I look forward to working with you all this year. Stay safe and stay active!
P.s. - check out the video on my page to see a brief introduction of all the members of the PE/Health department!
